Organic wines: do you know what they are?

Biological wines play an important role in terms of reducing our carbon footprint and we take pride in offering plenty of options at A Taste of Italy.

At A Taste of Italy, we pride ourselves on our commitment to fostering a connection between our customers in Ireland and the rich agricultural heritage of Italy. We believe in the importance of supporting small-scale wine producers who prioritize sustainable farming practices, ensuring that every bottle tells a story of tradition, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Also, one of the cornerstones of our philosophy is our dedication to offering organic and biodynamic wines from our suppliers and increasing the number of possibilities in our catalogue. In an era where environmental consciousness is the goal, organic wine represents a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a healthier planet.

Organic farming methods eschew the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, opting instead for natural alternatives that nurture the soil and respect the delicate balance of ecosystems. As a result, organic wines not only taste exquisite but also embody a commitment to sustainability and ethical production practices.

Just to name a few, at A Taste of Italy we can offer you:

Dissegna: located between Friuli and Veneto, at Dissegna wine is approached with passion. Due to its solar energy approach, their environmental impact is close to zero.

La Mirandola: from Tuscany, the farm “La Mirandola” is situated inside the borders of the production zone of the famous Chianti, the classical wine well known and appreciated all over the world.

Salcheto: Salcheto is one of the most ecologically advanced wineries in the world. Among other facts, it’s the first company in the world to have certified the carbon footprint of a bottle of wine.

Carpineti: the company is found on the slopes of Lepini mountains in Cori, Lazio, an ancient town dating back to the fourth century B.C., situated 56 km south of Rome. Since 1994, the winery has been adopting organic agriculture methods.

Funaro: at Funaro, all stages of the production process – from receiving the grapes to bottling – are followed while ensuring respect for the raw material and the environment. In 2011, both the farm and the winery reached an important milestone: the BIO certification.

By choosing organic wine, consumers can enjoy the unique flavors and characteristics of grapes untainted by chemical residues, while also supporting agricultural practices that promote soil health and biodiversity. Moreover, organic farming reduces reliance on fossil fuels, minimizes pollution of waterways, and contributes to the mitigation of climate changeโ€”a cause that is more urgent now than ever before.

At A Taste of Italy, we invite you to explore our selection of organic and biodynamic wines, each bottle a testament to the dedication and passion of our small-scale producers. As we always say: ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ.
