Aging: The aging lasts for about 20 months in 225 litre oak barrels (barriques) followed by six months in the bottle.
Vineyard: Choice of grapes from the communes of Mezzolombardo and Mezzocorona. From vines trained in the traditional Trentino pergola style and from the winery’s historical Masetto vineyard with Guyotstyle vine training.
Production: The stems are removed from the partially desiccated brunches and the grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature of 10°. About ten days later, fulling and the pump-over regime begun and go on for about thirty days. Then the pomace is separated from the new wine, which continues its fermentation in small French oak barrels. Refinement takes something like 20 months in small oak barrels (225 liters barriques) and is followed by six months of bottle fermentation.
Vinification: Partially withered and cold bunches are de-stemmed and placed in cells to ferment with temperature control at 10 ° C. Finally the wine continues its slow fermentation in small French oak barrels.
Nose: An explosion of full, fruity perfumes of jam and ripe dark fruit with ethereal hints and earthy odors, softened by toasted notes and tinges of minerals, spices, vanilla and butter.
Taste: On the palate the Endrizzi Gran Masetto conveys what the bouquet promised. The high alcohol content exalts the full tannins and at the same time makes the wine seductively balanced and harmonious. A distinctly long and pleasant finish.
